Hello! I’m Yunqi Richard Li, a Beijing-raised, LA-based filmmaker and alumnus of the USC School of Cinematic Arts. Shaped by a deeply bicultural upbringing, I’m particularly drawn to such themes as collective memory, cultural identity, and selfhood over time.

My debut short film Almost Will was an official selection at the 2020 AAHSFF and won Outstanding Live Action Short at MetroWest Student Film Festival 2020. Films I have produced include Missing at Sea and Hermit Crab, both official selections at the Oscar-qualifying LA Shorts Film Festival.

I love the works of Richard Linklater, Damien Chazelle, and Jiang Wen. I also love writing in first person.
